Falling Leaves and Sunflowers

In celebrating fall beginning this week I just finished drawing a couple falling leaves and made it into a set of 11 leaves in various different sizes. You receive a sheet that you cut apart and place however you like!

I am on a sunflower kick lately. I'm always thinking about my home sunflower state and when I was updating my stores and blogs I knew I wanted to use my sunflower drawing as a new wall decal.

We are back from vacation and opened our shops back up for business.

First up on my to-do list was to redesign my Purple Hound blog and I LOVE the results! I love the results so much that I want to post every day so I can see it. I already have several blog post scheduled over there for this week.

Next up on that to-do list is to work on new artwork for the etsy store. Does anyone have any requests of designs you'd like to see?

Hope everyone is having a great summer! Since I'm not always creating new pieces, I thought I would start giving you a peak of what customers are ordering.

Today I filled an order of my hedgies! I love seeing what color vinyl you guys choose and this is a set I would love to see up because normally customers pick black, or brown or sometimes white but this set was requested in red and I love it!

If you've ordered any wall decals from me you know that I include a sample for you in a random design. This order is going out with a small sea turtle.

When I scheduled the post for today I didn't plan on having a new listing up yet, but I was able to get one up after all today! This was a design I made for a customer and I absolutely love it! I love it in so many different color combinations as well. The brown is the vinyl and the flowers show through whatever your wall color is so the combinations are endless!

Working Wednesday: Filling Orders

Today was a filling and shipping order day when I got home from "the real job". It was such a beautiful day today that I got to be outside at work pealing an address off of a box truck and replacing it with the new address and then I got to come home, open up my corner living room windows and work on my own orders.

Today was a greyhound order day. The decal on the right was a sale from Handmade 4 Hounds. H4H is a team and shop on Etsy that raisies money for greyhound and sight hound rescue and adoption. This month's charity is Retired Greyhound Athletes.

I have a couple things to show you today. First up is a personalized princess crown. This isn't up in my etsy store yet but the first one did get made and applied over my daughter's bed.

Next up is a laundry room design. This has been in my head exactly like this for some time now and finally got to sit down and get it out onto the computer! There are 2 different sizes available in my Etsy store.

Here is my new little "office", yes, it's really 1 wall in our master bedroom... and because I am such a dork, I made little vinyl labels for my trusty old file cabinet drawers. My file cabinet was an old yellow metal cabinet that I painted with Rustoleum hammered finish spray paint 5+ years ago so it's a bit scratched up now and could use a new coat of paint to freshen it up. Now I need to make this office pretty!

Time for a new office

For those of you that don't know, cowboy, little love and I live in an 800 sq ft. 1940s house with 2 dogs. In the 1940s people apparently didn't have any stuff because there is no storage in this house!!! I am so proud of the work we've done in the past year with decluttering this house. We had 2 garage sales last summer and made countless trips to the goodwill to donate. L finally has a room to herself instead of sharing it with the office... but where do we put the office now?? It was temporarily in the kitchen eating area and we were going to then set up my new office in the living room, which like everything in this house is tiny! Plan B has gone into effect and the desktop computer is still going to the living room but the laptop, file cabinet and my vinyl cutter are going on one wall in our bedroom which will be my new office area! I think it's actually a good thing because I can escape and do a little work and not be in the middle of the bustle of the rest of the house... and I'll be keeping my best furry buddy company as he sleeps away the day in our bedroom.

I'm not sure if I'll be make today with a Make Something Monday post today, but I am going to try. I need a creative break after all of this paper shredding and filing papers and organizing wires!

New this week is a not so new design. This dragonfly was drawn with ink and a paintbrush at the same time, about 7-8 years ago, as my popular bumble bee design. It comes in a set of 3 different sizes - 12", 8" and 6".

Customize a bookcase!

When L turned 2 she moved into a toddler bed and I made her new curtains and bedding with an adorable mermaid fabric. Now that she's almost 3 we finally moved our computer out of her room so she has the room to herself. We stopped at Meijier on our way home from church in the middle of a storm storm to look for a bookcase for her. They didn't have any small white ones so we looked in the closet organizers and picked up a small Closetmaid 3 shelf unit that works perfect as a bookcase for her!

Of course I had to spruce it up a bit to match her room and best of all she told me she loves her new bookcase! Everything is made from removable wall vinyl so if we get tired of it or have to get her a bigger bookcase later on (which will probably happen since this one is almost full and my sister is a librarian) we can just peel the vinyl off and repurpose this shelf else ware! The design of the vinyl was made from sketches of mine as well as some design work on the computer. I love how it turned out!
